Review 2022 and Outlook 2023

Dear Members, we are looking back to the great year 2022 and giving you an insight about what to expect with the ICCO in 2023.

On November 22, 2021, the ICCO (Interdisciplinary Competence Center of Orthodontics) was founded with the
purpose of promoting progress in the field of orthodontics. In the meantime, the Board of Directors has established
itself and gradually taken care of developing suitable instruments to approach the goals of the ICCO. It is quite clear
that the path is the goal here because orthodontics is constantly evolving and is currently in the middle of the
“storm” of digitization. If the ICCO as an “eye of the storm”can bring calmness to this development, all the better –
in tranquility lies strength!

After the first members had been won (we are now a group of 34 colleagues), our next step was to set up a forum
for collegial exchange. Lectures on specific topics form the basis and provide the impetus for discussions and
exchange. In the last year, we held three Study Club Meetings. The lectures by Joëlle Dulla, Verena Diener, Nearchos
C. Panayi and Marc Schätzle were informative and very stimulating. The subsequent discussions and feedback from
the participants showed us that we are on the right track with this kind of event.

However, we would like more members to attend these meetings – because the more knowledge, skills and
experience come together, the more beneficial for all of us. At the same time, we have built up our website and
individual steps such as registrations etc. have been digitized – an added value that we want to further expand for
you as our members. More about this at www.iccortho.org.

Four Study Club Meetings with Ambra Michelotti, Carlalberta Verna, Peri Colino and Ronald Jung are planned for
2023. Details can be found on the ICCO website and in the TOP GEAR magazine. We are also planning a larger event
in autumn 2023 – linked to the ICCO General Assembly. More will not be revealed yet, just let yourself be surprised!

We look forward to all that awaits us in the near and far future in the professional and social exchange with like-
minded colleagues – for the benefit of our patients.

Best wishes for 2023!
